"Fanfare for the Unsung Hero" Premieres

Hector Salazar and the Southern California Brass Consortium today premiered Maffe's latest work for brass ensemble at the Los Altos United Methodist Church in Long Beach.

"Fanfare for the Unsung Hero" was commissioned by the band to be included in their "Heroic Brass" concert. Maffe wrote it in dedication to the first responders who are often on the front lines of every day emergencies and can likewise often be taken for granted.

This is Maffe's third collaboration and fanfare for with the SCBC, the first two being "Fanfare for the Patriot" (2016), and "Fanfare for the Vanguard" (2019).
